Back in 2015, I bought my Tiguan up in the Scottish Borders and drove it 450 miles home. Its been great for 10 years and 88k miles, taking us all to places wanted to. Recently, I switched to a used electric E-Niro, it's not quite as solid, but it drives better and costs way less to run. I sold the Tiguan privately, and funny enough, it ended up just 30 miles from where I originally bought it, like it came right back home!!

If EVs drive better, cost less to run, and cut emissions, why do so many cling to combustion engines, are we nostalgic for inefficiency, or just too stubborn to admit the future's arrived?

How did the Tiguan hold up over the years in terms of repairs or maintenance? And with the E-Niro, how's the range been for longer trips? I've been curious about switching to electric but not sure how it handles real-world travel.

That Tiguan story coming full circle is pretty cool. Sounds like it treated you well for a decade. Good questions @CauliflowerKindly48, I’m curious too how the maintenance was over those 88k miles and how the E-Niro’s range feels on longer runs.
