My dad bought a 2023 Volkswagon Tiguan, but he's so upset, that his head has almost exploded lol. Okay, first, when arrived, the car already had some issues, the dealership said they'll take care of it tho. Then While waiting for parts, the sunroof was left open, it rained, and the car developed a mold/mildew smell 😭 The dealership is now replacing the entire carpet and padding.
He's contacting a lawyer now because he's worried that this major repair will show up on the Carfax report, lowering its resale value.

Oof that sounds so bad. Sorry for your dad!
I guess it's still positive that the dealership is taking care of all the replacement.
As far as I know, not all service records are reported so it MIGHT not appear on Carfax.
Nonetheless, it was a good move that your dad is consulting a lawyer!
And make sure to have everything (repairs, communication, evidences) documented.
I'm curious to know its resale value later on. Not that I'm wishing anything negative on you!

Holy crackers! Sorry to hear about this :( no advice here really but hope eveything goes well after the replacements. Let us know what happens.

thanks guys, and I hope you're right @fast.and.curious about not everything's on the Carfax record, my dad was so happy to finally buy that car, he's still upset that it turned out to be a nightmare

I kinda doubt the lawyer can come up with a playable argument there lol. Save your money and just do some DIY repairs and solutions. ha ha
