Just got my 2024 Tiguan delivered yesterday and I know these cars nowadays are deep into technology and me personally am not techy at all. So my question is, how do I know when I need its software / firmware or whatever be updated? Is it automatic or do I need to bring it to the dealer every now and then?

Okayyy, congrats on the new Tiguan. I think most updates push through automatically if you're connected to the Wi-Fi. As far as I know though, for big ones or recalls, the dealer is the only answer. Just keep the VW app with you since it usually give you a heads-up.

How do you check for software updates in the infotainment system, does it show a notification, or is there a menu where you can see if it's up to date without visiting the dealer?
