My 2020 Tiguan got this heating and AC problems, and no surprise but im stuck with dealer since a few months ago waiting for the blend door actuator housing. Parts are unavailable, but Im skeptical about the usual supply chain excuses. Anyone got any idea why these parts are playing hard to get? Is it the same with the other parts?

Supply chain excuses or is it a real thing?

Yeah, you're not alone. I feel like, lately, Volkswagen isn't making enough HVAC parts. It's not just the shipping delays actually, there are other problems, too. I can't fit everything in this comment. So I suggest checking salvage yards or seeing if Euro parts sites have any stock. No luck here, I swear.

My guess is it's a mix. The big supply chain issues from a couple of years ago are mostly resolved for common parts, but weirdly specific or low volume components can still get caught up. VW might be getting priority for new car production over replacement parts, or there's just one factory making that exact housing.
